About the Minneapolis Kennel Club

Founded in 1933, the Minneapolis Kennel Club is one of the oldest kennel clubs in Minnesota. Its mission is to further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs, to advance the interests of dog shows and obedience trials, and to encourage sportsmanship at such events.

The Minneapolis Kennel Club conducts chipping clinics, educational meetings and seminars , sanctioned matches,an annual all-breed dog show and an obedience trial. The club is an active donor to the purebred dog community.

Thanks to all who entered, showed and worked at the Minneapolis Kennel Club's All-Breed Show. We appreciate you and hope the show went well for everyone.

There is no MKC meeting in November. The next meeting will be on January 19, 2016.

Mark your calendars: MKC's Holiday Party is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, at Centennial Lakes Centennial Lakes Park Hughes Pavilion, catered by Deco Catering, owned and run by Soile Anderson with managing partner Heikki Rouvinen. Dick Rueter is accepting reservations for the party; all should have received an invitation. Reservations are due by November 24. Soile also started and ran "Taste of Scandinavia," a well known bakery, for many years. Please note that this is both a change of location and a change of date. As you might know, the Fort Snelling Officers' Club where MKC normally holds the Holiday Party has been closed due to security concerns and was not available this year. The Hughes Pavilion is a lovely spot overlooking the Centennial Lakes Park. There is convenient parking and the food will be spectacular. Many thanks to Dick Rueter for great persistence in finding both a wonderful location and caterer for this event.

2016 dues ($10 per member) statements have been sent to members. Please send your dues to Marilyn Cathcart ny January 1, 2016.
